Collection: Brutalist Jewellery

Cement bangle as seen in 'New Bangles' - by Nicolas Estrada

Amy creates contemporary art jewellery that combines precious metals, gemstones and industrial materials to produce striking, architecturally inspired designs. Her distinctive collections explore the balance between strength and delicacy, bringing together contrasting materials in unexpected and elegant ways.

Her fascination with incorporating cement into handmade jewellery began while studying for her BA in Jewellery and Metalwork at Sheffield Hallam University between 2012 and 2015. Since then, cement has become a defining feature of her practice, recognised for its surprisingly lightweight quality and the intricate detail it can achieve. By pairing this industrial material with silver, gold and carefully selected gemstones, Amy challenges traditional expectations of jewellery.

Architecture remains one of Amy's greatest sources of inspiration, with her designs repeatedly returning to the iconic Barbican in London. The interplay between its bold Brutalist concrete structures and the vibrant turquoise water and lush planting found within the estate is reflected throughout her work. This relationship between hard and soft, geometric and organic, forms the foundation of many of her jewellery collections.

A recurring feature in Amy's designs is her signature 'organic cubes', a name that reflects their intentionally imperfect character. Each cube is crafted with softened edges, subtle irregularities and unique proportions, creating forms that feel both structured and naturally organic. Every cube is filled with coloured cement, ranging from soft white and pale pink to deep grey, adding a distinctive architectural aesthetic to each piece.

Amy's exploration of architectural form continues in her Skyline collection, inspired by the clean lines and silhouettes of city skylines. Delicate linear compositions are enhanced with gemstones and coloured cement, creating contemporary jewellery that is both refined and sculptural. As with her celebrated 'organic cube' designs, the Skyline collection continues to evolve, reflecting Amy's ongoing fascination with architecture, material experimentation and modern craftsmanship.
