Modern Traditional

Amy is a contemporary maker whose work sits at the intersection of heritage craft and modernist design. Rooted in ancient techniques such as loop-in-loop chain, sand casting, and Kurinuki carving, each piece of jewellery and ceramic emerges as a dialogue between material, form, and tradition.

Drawing inspiration from the raw textures and rhythms of brutalist architecture — most notably the Barbican — the work celebrates bold structure, tactile surfaces, and quiet irregularity. Ceramics are carved in the spirit of letting the clay talk, embracing spontaneity and imperfection.

Through hand-formed loops and sculpted clay, Amy explores how old-world processes can resonate in a contemporary visual language — forging objects that feel both timeless and deeply personal.
